Kaoru's Murmuring

最近又把當時在Chi La Kah買的"Speeches Of 20 Century"拿出來看了一遍
當然 拿出來翻 就一定要把那些名演講再讀一次

但是這麼多名講稿 最讓人感到熱血沸騰的還是JFK在1960年於LA講的"A New Frontier"
即使在將近半世紀後的今天 這篇講稿 依然是擲地有聲 不因時代的變遷而有絲毫減損
讀者依舊可以從講稿中感覺到
R.Friedman為何會在"The World Is Flat"裡面提到
"這篇演講激勵了整個世代的年輕人走上科學之路"
特別是這兩句話
"For the problems are not all solved and the battles are not all won- and we stand today on the edge of a new frontier -the frontier of 1960s- a frontier of unknown opportunities and perils- a frontier of unfulfilled hopes and threats."
"That is the choice our nation must make-a choice that lies not merely between 2 men or 2 parties, but between the public interst and private comfort- between national greatness and national decline- between the fresh air of progress and the stale, dank atmosphere of 'nomalcy' - between determined dedication and creeping mediocrity."

台灣 現下未嘗不是在一個"a frontier of unknown opportunities and perils- a frontier of unfulfilled hopes and threats."上?
但是 領導者似乎沒感覺到
眼裡只有惡鬥 弄得社會死氣沉沉
我想 台灣 應該是需要這種領導人的時代了
他不需要談太多 但是他必須給年輕人一個可以振奮的希望
一如JFK當年 打破了沉悶的Eisenhower years
為整個美國的年輕人帶來了奮鬥的目的
Vision Of 2020, I hope someone will take it as the present of 2008 , although it's a little late for this island.
